Euro 2008 England Qualifier - Estonia
v England - Tallinn Travel and Tourist Information
England travel to
Tallinn, on 6th June 2007 for their Euro 2008 qualifier with
Estonia. Tallinn is the capital city of Estonia and, as a result, getting to
this north eastern Baltic outpost is not a problem.
Several carriers and budget
airlines offer flights to Tallinn.
Direct flights from the UK to Tallinn are possible from London Gatwick,
London Stansted and Manchester.
Book your flights early for the best rates.
Tallinn airport is just
a few miles from the city. A cheap bus service runs from the airport to the
city centre. A taxi from outside the airport terminal to downtown Tallinn
will cost less than a fiver.
Accommodation in Tallinn is plentiful
enough but it is better to book in advance in the summer months. Tallinn is
growing in popularity as a boozy tourist destination and demand for
accommodation in Tallinn will be at an even greater premium when England
play here. There are a number of backpacker hostels in Tallinn
for budget travellers where accommodation can cost less than £10 a night –
but be warned – some hostels have a curfew so it’s worth paying more for
flexibility and service. Tallinn does have several tourist class hotels
where service, facilities and price are more in line with chain hotels in
the UK.
With Tallinn
growing as a destination for stag parties and hedonists, there is no
shortage of ways to enjoy yourself on a night here. Nightlife in Tallinn
is a mixture of breweries, bars and lap dancing joints catering to the
laddish appetite for falling down water, fun and flesh. There are several
Irish bars here, as well as The Englishman - an English style pub on
the first floor of Reval Hotel Olümpia.
