Euro 2008 England Qualifier -
Croatia v England - Zagreb Travel and Tourist Information
England visit the
Croatian capital of Zagreb for their 4th Euro 2008 qualifier. The
game takes place on 11th October, 2006. If you’re travelling to Zagreb
for this game get your flights booked as soon as possible. Direct flights to
Zagreb are possible from London but many flights to Zagreb require one stop.
Flight prices vary widely so do plenty of shopping around for the best
flight rates. Zagreb Pleso airport is just over 10 miles from the city
centre.
Zagreb offers many mid
priced hotels and several hotel chains are represented here. Expect prices
to be in-line with what you’d pay in the UK. Zagreb has a host of pubs, beer
halls and cocktail bars to use as a meeting point. There are a dozen discos
and nightclubs in Zagreb but unless you’re staying for the weekend, you’ll
probably miss the best of Zagreb nightlife.
If you’re travelling to
Zagreb for this qualifier, get in touch and let us know where you’ll be.
We’ll post your info on the site to let others know.
When visiting Zagreb it’s worth buying
the Zagreb card. You get unlimited travel on public transport as well as
discounts in some shops and restaurants. If you have time for a little
sightseeing while you’re here, the Zagreb card offers museum and visitor
concessions. The card can be purchased online or at all of Zagreb’s Tourist
Information centres - most large hotels can also provide you with the card.
The Zagreb card costs around £8-£9 and lasts for 72 hours.
The game will take place
at the 40,000 capacity Maksimir Stadion. A tram can be taken from Zagreb city centre to
the ground.
